How to make Bulgogi

Here is a basic recipe for making bulgogi, a popular Korean dish made with thinly sliced beef marinated in a sweet and savory sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, tenderloin, or ribeye, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 onion, grated
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 2-3 green onions, sliced diagonally

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the grated onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours.
  3. Heat a pan or grill over high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook until browned and cooked through, stirring occasionally.
  4. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Note: You can adjust the amount of sugar and honey to your preference, or add sliced mushrooms or other vegetables to the marinade.
