Dakgalbi Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into small pieces
  • 1 large sweet potato, peeled and sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 cup cabbage, sliced
  • 1 cup rice cake, sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.
  2. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until no longer pink.
  3. Add the sweet potato, onion, and cabbage and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the gochujang, soy sauce, honey, mirin, sesame oil, and garlic.
  5. Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetables and stir to combine.
  6. Add the rice cake and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the rice cake is soft and chewy.
  7. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  8. Serve hot with steamed rice.
