Here's a recipe for Maeun-tang:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. of assorted seafood (fish, squid, shrimp, mussels)
- 6 cups of water
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 1/2 daikon radish, sliced
- 1/2 zucchini, sliced
- 1/2 carrot, sliced
- 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-2 green onions, chopped
- 2-3 tbsp. of gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1-2 tbsp. of gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 1 tbsp. of soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. of fish sauce
- 1 tsp. of sesame oil
Instructions:
- In a large pot, add water and bring to a boil.
- Add the sliced onion, daikon radish, zucchini, and carrot to the pot and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Add the garlic, green onions, gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, and fish sauce. Mix well and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Add the seafood to the pot and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, until the seafood is fully cooked.
- Add sesame oil and adjust the seasoning to taste.
- Serve hot with rice.
